I’m getting ready to start drug treatment for CLL after 8 years of wait and watch. I just started with a new oncologist and she is sending me to see about a drug therapy trial. Has anyone had experience with this?
I want to tell everyone about a possible therapy for chronic lymphocyte leukemia. My oncologist knew I was not interested in chemotherapy so he gave me a paper telling about Neem leaf extract inducing cell death by apoptosis in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells. I ordered some from iherb.com and have been taking it since December 24th. The oncologist did not give me any instructions as to the dosage so I have been taking half of the eye dropper full every day 3 times a day. It is bitter so I mix it with about half of a small cup of water. I don't see him again until April but meanwhile I have noticed the lymph nodes on my neck that I can feel are starting to decrease. Your doctor probably won't approve this because of course they get a portion of the chemotherapy cost. My white blood cell count was around 22,000 and so those in the earlier stages of Leukemia might be interested in this.
I googled neem leaf and found a page from Web MD. Nobody took the extract, just the oil and capsules. But many said it is powerful and it helped a variety of problems, from back pain to acne. I must be one of the first to try it for CLL. My oncologist gave me an abstract which states the neem leaf extract causes cancer cell death. A patient had been using neem leaf for something else and the white blood cell death was noted. Anxious to get proof in March and will let you all know. I've had CLL for 14 years and been in watch and wait, last WBC was 22,000. It has been as high as 32,000. Took Quercetin for a couple years which suppressed it. Oncologist said don't take both. I have had no other symptoms.
Yes it is from a leaf (ayurvedic).
I found it will dehydrated you so double your water. I end up having crazy cravings for different food and nothing taste good. I've gotten to the point I don't want to eat. Don't take the imbruvica with milk or cereal. It will make you sick on both ends. Hope this helps.
I was put on Imbruvica 2weeks ago. I haven't had any problems with it. You just gotta figure out what foods you can eat while on it. I can't have milk or spice foods. I'm thirsty all the time so I carry a 64oz bottle of water with me all the time. Hope this helps.
