My father at 76 years old went into the hospital after getting sick a week ago from an infection. It was found he had a fistula and now we find out he has leukemia. They are giving him weeks to live because they can’t fix the fistula due to having cancer. I’m trying to get a second opinion because if it wasn’t for the infection we could try to save his life from cancer. I want to make sure we have to give up like the hospital basically has.
I have been diagnosed with AML. Started as MDS 6 years ago. With my chromosomes being all messed up, I am told the outlook is dismal. What can I expect?

She watched my bw for 3 months before sending me to a Hematologist, who gave me the diagnosis. This doctor told me that I don't need any treatment and I see her every 3 months for bw and a physical exam, checking my lymph nodes. My white cell count has gone… read more
Am I waiting for the pain to reach a threshold? The numbers? The size of my lymph nodes? I am not getting a straight answer from my doctors.
