I have lost 18 pounds since discovering I have CML in Jan 2022 (9%). Is this a normal rate of weight loss for people with leukemia and when does the weight loss ever stabilize? I am 63.

My brain wasn’t working well the night I answered you. But one reason my doctor don’t want me to lose too much weight when I finally worked on it was that if you’re too small and you get really sick then you don’t have the body mass too lose and still be ok weight wise. I hope that makes sense

I was told by my oncologist that I needed to lose weight. I was furious 😠. I lost 26 lbs though. Mainly because everything tasted like cardboard and I was to tired to eat. Still a little mad at my oncologist but, I forgive.

Thanks for replying. Wow that's a lot of lost weight for you. Check with your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on with your body. May do a CT scan? Best wishes.
