Ok I usually try to be upbeat (Altho scared to death) I recently posted that because my immune system has tanked that I am off sprycel 100mg for 7 days.

Anybody come off meds and get hit with total depression? I cry over charmin commercials! What is wrong with me??

MKP, listen to Ajaya and Wanda. Both ideas can help. The leukemia doesn’t bother me at all, life does. It all happens for a reason. I tend to turn to food anytime I feel a little down. I am not talking about eating, but making a meal for my family. That relaxes me, especially if it is outside on either the grill or the smoker. You need to find your “go to “ place and talking about it with someone will help. Good luck and all of you are in my prayers.

MKP, I agree with Rich, Ajaya & Wanda. I came off 100 Mg Sprycel when I told Dr. I could not take this dosage any longer (I was on 90 days and my S/Es were really rough). So she stopped Sprycel for 3 weeks. Within 4-5 days I starting feeling like my old self......all the bone pain I was having was leaving my body.....but I didn't care for I was having less pain. I knew I had to go back on, but I was just thankful I wasn't hurting and didn't focus on oh no, my BCR-ABL is going to drop. So now I'm back on 80 mg and know that I will return to the treatment I was when we stopped it. Try not to let fear rule you and focus on others, go see a friend or talk to your friends. They know you and will encourage you to be your old self and take one day at a time without fear. You have a family and friends, a faithful God who loves you and is taking care of you. Just remember how strong you were before you were diagnosed. You are that same person and seem to be handling the S/E of Sprycel pretty welll But you blood work guides your DR. and he did the right thing to take you off or reduce it. There are other choices and you may have to change like I did and so many others. It's all about finding what TKI will work for us. We are here for you and all praying for you.

I talked to my primary care doctor and she prescribed something but o haven’t taken it. I found that talking to God is better and I can call on him anytime. This illness definitely causes depression and anxiety.

Ajaya, thank you! I told the onc I was depressed and he said talk to primary care doc, then primary care doc afraid to prescribe anything for fear it will interact with sprycel. I am not afraid that I have cml leukemia, I believe it is treatable and Altho I will die with it I won’t die because of it. I just think it’s the back and forth and on meds/off meds that has my entire system on overload Thank you for your kindness and response. Mary
