Susan, I have not heard the term PCRU but my RBC stays low and it goes along with my low HCT and HGB. My WBC and Platelets became normal right after I started my first TKI (Imatinib) and now on Sprycel, I still remain anemic. I add iron to my daily routine, protein shakes eat a balanced diet and exercise but reds (my energy guys) stay low. I am still able to get out and stay involved. But rest when my body demands it. For me, it just comes with my TKI and hopefully it will keep my BCR-ABL down.

Hi Bill: Thanks for the diet info, as I already have checked it out. I think I am anemic. Constantly cold, and doctor tells me its because I am on a blood thinner. I get lightheaded/dizzy at times. Just a feeling of being weak also. Your comment made me feel better until I can see what my Primary doctor thinks Have a Good Day.

Hi Brenda: PCRU is the test you get to check for the cancer cells, and PCRU means you are undetected with no cancer cells seen. I have always had low counts since I was on my Gleevec, but all of a sudden my RBC is below normal. It is 3.79, and I noticed that my HGB is on the low side of normal etc. All my other counts have been normal since I went on my TKI back in 2000. I have had my iron checked etc. but its all been normal. I go next week for complete blood work for my Primary doctor, and I guess I will see if I am still low or lower. I know the signs of anemia are dizziness etc., and I have been having all of that lately. Thank You for sharing with me. Sounds like your doing good. Have a Great day.

Have CML and red blood cells are below normal. I know if it goes too low, u can become anemic. Mine stays steady low and I have no problems. Don't worry, not a big deal.goggle how to increase red cells thru change of diet. Take care.
