I’m 79, diagnosed 18 mo ago, had Covid once, asymptomatic except for fatigue, chronic post nasal drip.
The balance issue seems to be linked to an inner ear infection that has plugged up my left (hearing) ear. I’ll have to wait until the end of the week when we get back home to have it looked at. Not aging as gracefully as I’d like but still here!
Yeah, my ortho tells me it’s a mess in there. The pain comes and goes but uncertain balance is the real problem. After the Africa trip we’ll come back to Mexico (living life to the fullest, etc) so there’s no time to have the surgery and recovery if we want to travel. I’ll do cortisone shots and PT and see if there is some other stopgap measure.
Hi Sharon, thanks for the response. I can see there’s lots to learn and a tremendous uncertainty. How are you doing?
Oh, I thought the balance problem was stemming from the bad knee...sorry, I confused that! Yes, the ear can certainly cause that.
I was going to ask you what tests have you had that showed TPLL?
I am so glad you are just experiencing fatigue but that is very rare 18 months in...especially without any type of treatments. It would be wonderful if you didn't have it. I would jump for joy myself.
I hope you continue living your best life and you remain indolent. Have a great day! 😊
Mike,
I'm glad it's not a constant pain but the balance issues are concerning.
I understand you not wanting surgery but don't let it go until you start falling and break something else!
I know that sounds bad...I'm just a ray of sunshine, aren't I?....no seriously, I wouldn't want you laid up on your safari with a broke hip!
Do the shots help you and for how long? I'm hoping mine lasts a while anyway.
Have you ever rubbed "castor oil" on your knee? Some people swear by it but it has to be castor oil because that's the oil that penetrates the deepest.
You take care and take care of that knee too! Let me know if you try the oil. 😊
