I was diagnosed with CML approximately 1 1/2 years ago. My PCP wanted to do a mammogram to compare to the last one that was normal 2 years ago. My results came back as abnormal in one breast. I have additional testing scheduled. I am trying not to worry but I didn’t expect the Leukemia diagnosis, I thought it was menopause.
I had read that excess B or T cells can attack healthy cells which could cause other body problems? I am glad I have requested medication to reduce my white blood cells to a normal 8000. Out of control WBC affect healthy cells which means the body had to replace those cells which could lead to damaged cells versus healthy cells. I hope team members realize bad cells could affect their health and medication can effect a person's health.
