I have been taking Sprycel for the last couple years through the payment assistance plan. The plan has changed this year and no longer able to participate. My doctor prescribed Bosulif and was able to obtain it through Pfizer and the dosage is 400mg. After two days, I was experincing severe nausea and vomiting along with diarrhea. My doctor prescribed a type of Precid for the stomach issues and it really helped.
That is what my oncologist is looking at now. I also take Zofran, but with the 400mg, it didnt help at all. They are looking at changing mine to 100mg. My BCR ABL remains almost neglible are almost a year. Not taking anything now, per my doctors orders. Thank you for input….
Yes, I was on it for a while and had stomach issues. My doctor prescribed Famotidine 20 MG and it worked wonders.
Im also on bosulif. My doctor started me on 400mg and I ended up in hospital with allergic reaction. Lowered dosage to 100 and went up gradually. Now on 300mg no allergic reaction. You have to make sure you have food in your belly. I take mine right before bed. It makes me very loopy. I've been on it for almost 2 years.
I was taking Sprycel for ~10 years with none to mild side effects. 2 years ago I had a stupid fall (tried to roller skate). got an infection in my back which spread to my aortic valve, which led to heart surgery to replace it, pleural effusion, etc. Dr changed to 300 mg of Bosulif. Luckily I did not experience the diarrhea problem.
Hopefully you'll be able to moderate your dosage and side effects. It can be a day to day struggle, but you can make it through.
