thank you for your post, I have not started chemo as yet. I am part of the watch and monitor process, until my white cell count rockets. I would be most grateful to find out how your husband Sergio's treatment progresses. I wish you success with your treatment.
Kind regards
Peter
My husband Sergio who has been diagnosed with CLL since January 2024 and started chemo in October 2024 (Acalabrutinib 100 mg, twice a day) is just now starting to show bumps with dark red coloration all over his forehead and they seem to be moving down on his forehead closer to his eyes. Anybody has this happen?
In the past I had similar red spots and I did not know what caused them? I few times per year I am itchy but when I cool myself I stop being itchy. Those excess white blood cells (WBC) seem to cause issues within the skin and the nervous system. I read an article last summer that the brain can be affects or attacked by those bad cells. I seem to control my issues with simple fixes. For skin concerns I use a fan to cool my skin and the itchy feeling goes away. I really see the red spots but they go away a few days after I notice the spots? I hope your health and happiness can be as good or better than mine in the future.
Yes, skin issues are very common with CLL - around 25% of people experience skin lesions, and 30-50% develop various skin problems. Many MyLeukemiaTeam members have shared similar experiences with itching, spots and lesions.
The majority of people with CLL experience what doctors call "insect bite-like reactions" - these Show Full Answer
Has an itchy scalp got anything to do with CLL or itchy forehead ???
