- No myeloid-associated antigenic aberrancy: The myeloid cells (a type of white blood cell) don't have abnormal protein markers on their surface that would suggest leukemia
- No increased myeloblasts: Myeloblasts are immature white blood cells. In acute myeloid leukemia, these immature cells build up abnormally. Your test showed normal levels
- No abnormal subset of T lymphocytes: Your T cells (another type of white blood cell) appear normal
Flow cytometry works by identifying protein markers on cell surfaces to detect cancer cells. It's sensitive enough to find one cancer cell among 100,000 normal cells.
This result suggests no detectable leukemia in the tested sample at this time. However, your healthcare team will consider this alongside other tests and your overall clinical picture to guide your care.
