I have been on 400 mg of imatinib ever since being diagnosed about 2 years ago.
No leg cramps or muscle problems? My electrolytes seem to be normal. I am Type 2 Diabetic (T2D) so I avoid sugar products. I take plenty vitamins and lots of water daily. I do have bruising from exploding capillaries in my skin when I over exercise or jog. No antibiotics since I have been well for several years. I hope others are doing as well as I am by good management of my health.
Robert, are you monitoring your electrolytes? Maybe some gatorade through out the day or a banana before bed? There is also an adult electrolyte formula ( no flavor can mix it in your water throughout the day. I might start there---usually leg cramps are an electrolyte deficiency.
One other thing, are you on an antibiotic with your med? They will eventually counteract and cause additional symptoms--often hitting leg muscles or tendons ( I had that happen 4 nights into my hospital stay. Good luck, don't assume you have to live with certain symptoms---we're all here and we've all had some type of response. Michele
I have been trying to be active to avoid cramping or stiffness. In the past I had walked miles and now I just visit a gym 3 times a week to keep my body flexible. At night I do change my body position so that I am not stiff when I wake in the morning. I pace myself so that problems do not develop. I am 74 but I get around like I am 40. I also have a strange high pain potential and not knowing after fracturing or breaking several bones playing sports.
