Being Yourself Is More Than Enough

Posted on March 22, 2019

"After feeling like I need to be better, stronger, healthier, and in control, I now know I am enough."

Members of MyLeukemiaTeam experience the burden of leukemia physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Sometimes we strive to appear healthier than we are to avoid the stigma of cancer. Other times, we experience relief and support from others who've been in our shoes.

"I'm getting out of the rat race. I'm not hiding my struggles anymore. If I'm tired, I'm going to rest. Hearing from others with leukemia has taught me that I have to prioritize ME."

Here are recent conversations from members on MyLeukemiaTeam:

"Biggest problem is feeling fatigued. My fault, should have rested more than I did. Didn’t listen to my body telling me to take it easy."

"Smiling and enjoying Life! Cheers."

"Brand new to all this. Just received Sprycel today and have to notify oncologist tmrw that I have it. He will then let me know what day and time to start. I’m a little scared, not quite sure what to expect. Still kind of doesn’t seem real that I even have leukemia(CML). So we shall see."
