I have been diagnosed with AML. Started as MDS 6 years ago. With my chromosomes being all messed up, I am told the outlook is dismal. What can I expect?

I did 7 months of chemo, 3 weeks in the hospital 1 week out. Then I did 10 months of midostaurin at home. I see a specialist at UCSF in San Francisco, she saved my life.

Everyones different, depends on different things your body carrys. I have an flt3 mutation gene that makes me a low candidate for a bone marrow and survival. Also my chances of it coming back is up in the 80%. I've been in remission for a year. So far so good however its changed many facets of my life. Its like a waiting game.
