Covid Vaccine
I have cll and am thinking about taking the covid vaccine but I'm concerned about it because it hasn't been tested on people with lukeima. Should I still take it?
Bob, from what I read... if you get the vaccine
and are in Watch and Wait you should get
antibodies. If you are currently on BTK inhibitors
and get the vaccine you wont get the antibodies
because the BTK inhibitors destroys the
production of antibodies
I am in remission UMRD and off drugs since
the end of Nov19 ..I did vaccine 3 mo later
and 2 mo after that I got "20" as a result
which is very good. So that proves when
you go off of BTK inhibitors like
Ibrutinib and Venclexta and all the others
you can develop antibodies again.
Bob, this is how I understand it but I could
be wrong
My brilliant Hematologist says get the booster when I can even though I'm in treatment now! I'm all over this, I believe in vac's!
The booster beat me up so bad ... I have
never been so sick ever and I mean ever !!!
No more boosters for me

I am doing ok with social distancing. In general, I want to wait and see how the vaccine affects our gen pop in the future. I am not inclined to get the vaccine, just yet. I think we all just have to decide for ourselves. I just need more information and time to determine what I need to do for myself. No judgement on anybody’s decision or difference of opinions.
I have cll and I took my shots I'll get the booster to
