I had the pneumonia vaccine & did fine but when I received the covid vaccine last fall I was sick for a couple days. Just curious.
Definitely get it! If you’ve had chicken pox, the virus lays dormant on your nerve endings for decades. Depending on where shingles surfaces, it can be debilitating. You can go blind if near your eyes. Most often stressful events can trigger the eruption. And heaven knows leukemia is a stressor.
Leukemia does reduce our ability to fight illness and shingles is dormant in the skin until something like an illness triggers the illness. Anything to prevent an illness is a good idea unless you want to gamble with your health or life?
Had first dose with no adverse effects. Should be fine, just don't be sick when you get it. But then they should ask you that anyway.
I got the first one and only had a slightly sore arm for a few days and a slight headache the second day. Getting the second one next week.
I received both shingle vaccines two years ago and felt fine and okay with that cause I actually seen my cousin and her husband with shingles no thank you!!!!!
