I can’t see your question sorry. Hope I answer it. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 blastoid variant mantle cell lymphoma at age 47 in 2004. I underwent the Hyper C-Vad (sp) protocol, new at the time; a splenectomy, temporary renal failure (doctor screwup). My platelet count was so low I couldn’t even use a toothbrush. Even so, they didn’t use a single drop of blood during my surgery. After surgery recovery I completed the chemo regimen and I was in complete remission. The doctor recommended a stem cell transplant as mantle cell can actually regenerate from a single cell. Very nasty stuff and I had the worst of the worst version. My sister was a perfect match. I had severe chemo and 2/3 of a fatal dose of whole body radiation as transplant preparation. It took completely and now I have 2 kinds of DNA- mine and my sister’s! Pretty crazy stuff. There were some tough times recovering to be sure; some really tough. I wanted to give up a few times. However, here I am now, 17 1/2 years and counting later. I’m 65, I still swim, run, do CrossFit and work landscaping every day. I am what God’s promises for healing looks like. Absolutely get an advocate; someone who’s even more committed to your success than you are. Don’t aim for survival, aim for victory. Speak victory, not defeat. How you talk about cancer is the reality of your case. You get to say how it will be. I did and look what I got. You cannot speak or act equivocally about cancer, especially not about one like mantle cell. Surround yourself with those who’ll believe and fight with you. God bless you and your victory.
