I have CLL for four and a half years stage 3 now WBC 284, 000 hemoglobin 13.8 platelets 222 swollen inguinal lymph node, doctor won't biopsy. The doctor assures me that once I start taking this medication everything will be back to normal and go into remission
Thank you Brenda I'm starting it this morning 320 mg a day I will keep you posted on reactions my doctor did say that this medication did not cause the heart issues as former meds did I wanted to get a second opinion but in reality I just don't have the time to go through all the red tape of seeing another doctor.
Thanks for the info,
take care-Ron
Hi Ron
My oncologist just prescribed Brukinsa zanubritinib, for me. I was on watch and wait for months and probably before diagnosis since he says I’m stage3. He says it has least side effects. Initially he was talking about calquence but during my wait Brukinsa was approved. I’m skeptical about any chemo med but have to something to help . This is a chronic disease so no cure but according to doctor this med will block growth and get wbc , hgb etc back in line. I am waiting to receive first delivery of rx. This is not an easy journey. I pray for us all. Take care. Keep in touch.
Thxs Ken, I know the FDA just approved zanubrutinib in Jan 2023 for CLL has Ibrutinib helped your symptoms?
No they started me on ibrutinib and I have been on that for a year
Hi Wanda5- Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Brukinsa. I am hopeful. I am concerned about my blood pressure, as it is rather out of control in the evening. Hopefully this will all iron itself out. We are indeed fortunate that new medications continue to be created. I am in awe of what the new meds are able to do. I'll keep you posted as I begin to take the Brukinsa on Friday.
