I have a question about shortness of breath. Why am I panting for even short walks around the house. I stopped Gleevac for almost 3 weeks because of problems. When I stopped my shortness of breath also stopped. It's not like an asthma shortness or any lung problem. When I was off Gleevac I started hiking up to 5 miles with no problems. Glad to hear your lungs are clear. Have you ever tried another TKI? May be that you won't be able to take Gleevac anymore. I would talk to your doctor and let him know how bad the shortness of breath has gotten.

Thanks Sharon, but my lungs are great and clear. And the 3 weeks I was off Gleevac the shortness of breath went away...and I hiked up to 5 miles. Must be with O2 (or lack of it) in the blood stream.

Mike, you may need a chest xr due to one side effect of Gleevac is fluid buildup in the lungs which would definitely cause the symptoms you described.
