My Gleevec I had to stop talking cause it had me with my bones hurt and it felt like I had a sender block sitting on my upper chest, so my oncologist took me off the Gleevec.

My reactions were severe vomiting overnight, headache, bad bone pain, and diarrhea that I still have 3 days later!!
By the time I was in the ER I needed magnesium, potassium, sodium, three bags of IV. I got 2 IV doses of anti nausea, medication under my tongue, and they sent me home with anti nausea drugs. They admitted me overnight and finally got me feeling human again!!

What kind of a reaction did you have from the Gleevec? Gleevec has a lot of side effects, but mine were manageable when I was on it. I had very bad orbital edema where my eyes would get all puffy, and I had joint pain in the beginning. I always ate with my pill to avoid nausea. In my case I just stuck it out and lived with it all, but we cannot all handle the same drugs. Maybe your doctor needs to put you on something else. I took Gleevec from 2000 up until 2018 where I developed bad edema in my whole body. I stopped all treatment, and was told if I lost my response of being undetected that I would have to start Tasigna. I am almost at the 6 year mark now of no TKI drug, but if I lose my response I will be put on Tasigna. I hope your feeling better. Gleevec saved my life in my case. I started it in 2000, and I was undetected by 2002. I continued to take it everyday up until 2018. Please keep us all updated on how your doing and what steps your taking to get your CML under control.

Sorry to hear about all the side effects that you have had to taking Gleevec. I was very fortunate that I could handle the side effects. The one thing that I did have when I started to take it was severe heartburn. I was put on Nexium at the time, and it helped. I still take it everyday for issues of reflux to this day.
