I am at a loss for words. I have a tattoo of a weed, a beautiful blue morning glory climbing up a strand of barbed wire. "Lord, grant me the tenacity of a weed.".
When I got on the scale, and my weight was down to 153 pounds. I hadn't weighed under 155 since I was a freshman in high school. I had lost weight during the early stages of CLL, but I dropped 30 pounds in 60 days without trying. That scared me, and started to take leukemia serious.
I think one of the times that most scared me was when I learned that taking certain drugs and having CLL left me open to possibly getting other types of cancers. Living and loving one day at a time and loving it!!
Wow you guys and gals, your posts do sound scary.
Mine is not so serious. I didn't believe I had leukemia since I was in watch and wait with no real serious symptoms for a year and my blood tests seemed stable. I even asked my oncologist if I still had leukemia. What got my attention was when I ended up in the hospital 🏥 for common gall stones and then it turned into pancreatitis. They struggled to keep my temp down for over a week, even after 4 rounds of IV antibiotics, that is when I knew something was not working right. Then, I found a lymph node was enlarged. That is when I realized something was abnormal. 😳 I thought watch and wait meant I was normal, so I did not expect these things to happen! I don't need treatment yet but now the CLL has my attention!
Yep, I remember that !! Watch and wait was getting more of a concern when my WBC's went up to 128. Four weeks later I was in an ambulance heading for a 6 day stay in the hospital till they stabilized my critical blood labs.
