I was diagnosed will CLL/SLL in March 2023. I started treatment with infusions and Chemo pills which I can not tolerate at this time. Is it normal to have this diagnosis and yet never have had a biopsy done? Sorry just laying awake thinking so thought I'd ask.
From what I've studied and read most chemo drugs and other congenital therapies cause people to fill ill. You might check out "chrisbeatcancer.com" and read a bunch of testimonies of people. Many did conventional and/or holistic things like fresh juicing and vegan diets along with other things either separate or along with conventional treatments which helped them a lot. Conventional treatment is very hard on the body with often a lot of bad side effects. It's your body. Just a thought! 🙂
Biopsy is to check Bone marrow! Maybe they see everything they need to see from blood tests

My oncologist performed the 2 bone marrow biopsies to help with the correct diagnosis & what type of treatment would be best helpful. I had those done & also the excision of an enlarged lymph node in my armpit, also for correct diagnosis & treatment options. I started on Calquence as soon as I could as I was miserable.

When my oncologist told me last October that I was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia from the lab work that I had done, he said that I would have to have a bone marrow biopsy to confirm it and to see whether it was Chronic or Acute, etc. My numbers were in the millions from the labs. He immediately put me on a chemo pill. I had a bone marrow biopsy later that week which did confirm CML and showed that I was just under on the SOKOL scale from having AML. I then immediately started Sprycel which I am still taking 100mg/day. I had a molecular study last week at the 3-month mark.
I am not an oncologist but I and many others would think a bone marrow biopsy would be in order. But again, I have CML. I am not sure what the protocol would be for CLL/SLL. Feel better!
