Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) is a very rare illness. I hope you are taking care of your self and you should be ready for a wonderful spring.

My platelets usually return to normal but I’ve had to have platelet transfusions a few times because of criticality low counts.

I do. I don’t have Leukemia but I do have two precursors; MDS and MPN. I have what’s known as an MDS/MPN Overlap. MDS used to be known as Pre-Leukemia.
Those of us with the overlap then to lean one way or the other regarding platelets. With MDS, platelets are typically low and with MPN, they’re high. We tend to lean one way or the other. Mine are high.

My platelets are low but doctor says nothing will be done until they drop more, low end of the guideline now.
