Wanda5- Thank you for your response. I did not have to worry about taking the vaccines at the same time as the Brukinsa, as I was able to fit them in while I was learning about Brukinsa and making a decision to take it. I have not heard from anyone else about stopping taking the med before getting a vaccine, but I believe that each Oncologist has the best ability to advise those for whom any medication is prescribed. (My oncologist did advise that should I need any type of major surgery I will want to stop and restart the Brukinsa. She said that I needn't do that for my upcoming cataract surgery.) I am particularly concerned about experiencing Covid along with my CLL, so I get a shot whenever my doc recommends it. I hear that the combination is not a good one. So, I believe that we each need to do what we are able to get and stay as healthy as we can now that we live with CLL. I am encouraged by many on this site who have experiences that are uplifting, and victories that are glorious. I wish the same for each of us.
I get a covid booster at least once a year. Covid and CLL are a deadly combo; don't want that combo. I hope you are not being influenced by Kennedy. He is not a good source of vaccine advice!
I’m taking Brukinsa too. My oncologist urged me to get the shingles and Covid vaccinations to prevent infections from those viruses.
They won’t help with CLL symptoms to my knowledge.
David852- I am sorry that you do not believe that I am a good source of vaccine advice. My primary response is that any of us on any medication should, I believe, consult with the prescribing doc when thinking about vaccines. The rest was about my own personal experiences. I have no hope of giving medical advice, as I am simply a woman who is living with CLL, taking Brukinsa, and having my own experiences. I am not trying to influence anyone. So sorry that it felt as if I was. I hope you are well, and appreciate your being here.

I asked the question because the btki blocker might interfere with the potency of the vacs according to what I read in the group. I will get the shingles vax but not sure I want another Covid vax. Thank you for your response. Best to you
