Thanks! What do you see as the benefits of self-administering? Costs, convenience... I'm looking at several hours of IV each time, so maybe a more aggressive process?

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy is often used in leukemia to protect against infections when antibody levels are low. Many people report mild side effects like headache, fatigue, fever, or muscle aches during or after treatment. Rarely, more serious issues like kidney problems or blood clots can occur. Long-term results vary, but IVIG can reduce bacterial infections. Always discuss potential risks and benefits with your doctor. I have been self administering immunoglobulins via subcutaneous route since October 2023. There is some training involved in the procedure but very simple and easy. Not any worse than self administering insulin for diabetes. My oncologist referred me to the “One Path” program which runs this. As immunoglobulins are a blood product it is ordered by my oncologist and supplied via Red Cross Blood Services here in Manitoba, Canada. The Program rep handles insurance coverage with you insurance company for supplies at no cost to you. I can recall having one episode when I experienced itching and redness for about 24 hours post infusion since I started. I have to say that it has helped support my immune system fight off infections since I have been on this treatment. Hope this helps you.
