I was on Tasigna for CML for 11 yrs. I am now off the Tasigna and have been for 2 1/2 years. So far so good I am still in remission.
Hi Barbara,
Good for you, you are not taking Tasigna and still in remission. My BCR ABL result is always .0030 from Nov. 2023 to March 2025 but my doctor advised me to continue my medication . Gleevic from 2018 to 2021 then 2021 up to now Im on Nilotinib Tasigna. How I wish I can stop also taking this Oral chemo.🙏
Thanks for sharing. God bless our health journey.
Thank you, you, too!
I understand that medication "controls" the bad cells by inactivating the cells. It is amazing that after many years and no medication your are normal? I did not know that a medication could attack an organ? Thanks for sharing your information and your progress. I hope your summer is happy and healthy.
I’m fortunately at 0.00. From my understanding, Tasigna right now is the only TKI that you can go off of and try treatment, free remission so maybe in a couple of years she’ll be able to go off at totally. Please have your oncologist check your pancreas all the time as to CIGNA can cause problems with your pancreas and I know that first hand. What brought on by desire to try treatment free remission Is that they thought I had pancreatic cancer and removed half of my pancreas and all of my spleen. It is believed that the Tasigna pickled my pancreas and caused the abnormality. The good news is that I didn’t have pancreatic cancer., the bad news is that I coded while I was in the hospital because a line of staples in the first operation failed. I was bleeding out.I had to have emergency surgery that saved my life. It has been a long road back …still not 100% but so happy I don’t have to take the regiment of Tasigna. I wish you luck!
