I have no problem getting my 8 hours every night but I am 73. During the day I am active and by 3 PM I am ready to relax. If I could not sleep I would take sleeping pills until my sleep was coming natural. I do not take a nap during the day because that can lead to staying awake at night. I also do not eat 4 to 5 hours before I fall asleep before 10 PM.
Start your recovery slow and eat something you like which will help you to eat. Be sure to keep up with your vitamins and supplements so you do not become ill. I hope your health and appetite returns to normal. I think your treatment had an ill affect with your nutrition but as you return to normal you will know how to handle the situtation if you have to do it again?
How can I manage sleeplessness with leukemia?
Insomnia is a common challenge for people with leukemia, making it difficult to fall asleep, stay asleep, or get back to sleep after waking early. Quality sleep is especially important as it helps support your immune system and helps you cope with treatment side effects.
