I have been on 3 week cruises in the past 18 months. I am watchful and arrive to eat before the others. When getting on an elevator decide if the time is right with a few people or many people on the elevator. Eat healthy and don't over due eating too much food. Years ago the wife and I gained 10 pounds eating everything. I also would walk 5 to 6 miles a day and climb 20 to 30 flights of stairs per day. I visited the gym when my wife was tired of me walking all over the ship. Try to have a good time and do not worry because basically 99% of the people are healthy. I did see a few masks but I did have a good time......

What preparations should you make for traveling abroad or taking a cruise with CML?

While the search results don't specifically address travel preparations, here are some important considerations based on CML treatment information:

Medication Management:
- Ensure you have enough of your daily TKI medication for the entire trip, plus extra in case of delays
- Keep medications in their original containers with prescription labels
- Set alarms or reminders to take your medication at the same time each day, even across time zones
- Bring a copy of your prescription in case you need refills

Treatment Considerations:
- Some TKIs like Tasigna must be taken on an empty stomach, while others like Danziten can be taken with food
- Missing doses can negatively affect your survival and response rate, so maintaining your schedule is crucial

Before You Go:
- Talk with your cancer care team about your travel plans
- Ask about managing potential side effects while traveling
- Get contact information for medical facilities at your destination
- Ensure your insurance coverage extends to your travel location

Your oncologist can provide specific guidance based on your individual treatment plan and current health status.
