I think your introduction to CLL is not so different? Our illness is a long term thing which means other illnesses will be a future problem. Those bad cells seem to attack possible areas inside the body which may be not working correctly and it will cause pain or illness. Those bad cells can affect the lung and cause the body to weaken and then possible pneumonia? I was lucky that when I retired I focused on my health and started visiting the gym 3 times a week. Then ten years later at 70 I was told I had CLL. I have continued my gym visits but I do not jog as much today. I have learned to pace myself and I slowly build myself to do more tasks. Last summer I cut and split 2 cords of oak from my property which is inside an oak forest. I hope you learn about this illness and medication like I did and join other leukemia groups. I learned much from reading both questions and answers. I know my medication uses the "BTK inhibitor" to control those bad blood cells. I know my medication is good for 10 to 20 years or until the bad cells mutate and can not be affected by the medication. The good news is there are many different medications which use different methods to control those bad cells. There are many good videos on YouTube which explain much about leukemia, research, medication, etc. My doctor never told me anything except "don't worry?" and I requested medication when my White Blood Cells (WBC) count was at 75,000 and before lymph glands or other organ damage could happen.
