Ask your oncoligist about Scemblix. These second generation TKIs seem to have less side effects. Been on it for 3 years and my blood work is all normal except for slightly low platelets

I’m so glad to hear from you, also! How have you been? I haven’t been online here, as much and need to catch up. I hope you’re doing well and that your family is also. My health and Drs. appointments have been crazy and time consuming! I have been feeling extremely tired, gained weight and fall asleep most afternoons around 2:30 for 2-3 hrs. I haven’t been feeling myself, so I saw my Primary Dr. and she had me do some tests. Bloodwork, thyroid ultrasound for my nodules and a test for Cortisol. I just saw my test results online and there’s something going on, definitely! My bloodwork isn’t too bad, outside of the Leukemia but my Thyroid test showed diffuse thyroid disease and my Cortisol is extremely high at 59.2 reading. I see the Dr. this Friday and my Oncologist on Monday 4/20. Have you ever heard of Leukemia affecting these things? I’m sure they’ll get it figured out but it just adds to the stress of more Drs. and tests. How is your Grandson doing in his new job? I hope he comes to visit you often! I was in San Antonio last August, wish we could have met but time didn’t allow. My oldest Grandson started College at Texas A&M for engineering. He seems to like it and has driven 4 1/2 hrs one way, back home a few times to visit. We FaceTime and message, which is wonderful. You need to listen to your body and if it says, “slow down” just go with it. I know it’s frustrating but the things that don’t get done will still be there and you will too!😉 I’ll try to stay in touch more, here. Gina, Thanks for your reply about your Gleevec. These TKIs are a bemusement how they work so differently on us. Sounds like its working for you so we have to keep going forward. I am noticing my balance is not what it use to be and we both have to work on this. These mishaps and misteps are real problems especially as we age. Please check out these falls especially if there is a head injury. I have 2 knee replacements and try my best to exercise and keep my knees going. I slipped on black ice this winter and hit my head and back. I was lucky no brain bleed or broken ribs, but sure was sore for weeks and black and blue.
