It's been 5 months since my diagnosis I was in the hospital for almost 3 months. No I'm at the hospital almost every day either to give blood or to get blood. Plus two chemo shots a day. They can't find my veins and they can't put a port in because my white blood cell drops too quick. So I keep getting picked and picked and picked. The other day they had to call to anesthesiologist department to find a vein 😭😭😭 I can't do this anymore I'm getting wore out mentally physically. There's no veins… read more

Linda, Praying for your peace of mind and a better and brighter tomorrow. (and less pokes!) Many years ago, my husband was in the hospital and they kept getting blood from him. They would begin with trying to find a vein, they try over and over again. When they finally got thru with that, they were then trying to put in an IV. Torture! Finally, I asked for the head nurse. When she came in and I explained how much pain my husband had endured she called in a Anesthesiologist. He came in quickly and it less than a minute, found the vein! He informed us, that if this happens again, we should insist on them getting him back. He mentioned that we had every right to do so. I never forgot that. So, maybe you should try that if possible. Wishing you the very best. Take good care.

My wife has your vein problem and they have to have an expert find her hidden veins. I am 74 but I take Brukinsa which has been successful with returning my blood 100% normal with WBC count at 7,600. I only realized a few months ago that I was normal because my medical people did not tell me anything during our 5 minute visits? I just learned that my medication can be effective for 10 to 20 years before a different type of medication is required. The research for medication is very good and there may be a cure in 10 years or another super good medication. I have been promoting my health by eating healthy and exercising. I only lately realized that my physical and mental health is very good. Tomorrow I will be going to the gym and working out for an hour. The last 10 minutes I am tired and ready to take a shower. Then by the time I am dressed and leaving the gym I have my energy back and I am not extremely exhausted. I hope you can see that in your future there will be a better future because of the medical research being done today. I think my doctor visits have become short because I seem to be informing my doctor more than he is sharing with me? I hope you realize that one of these days you will have a solution to your medical issue and then you will have to realize you have a good future. Celebrating Long Life (CLL)

Prayers my friend.
I remember those days.
A few times I was poked over 12 times all not hitting a vein.
Worse part is when they stir the needle trying to hit it .
But?
It will get better!
I promise!
We are here for you.
Sending strength

What you're going through is genuinely exhausting β€” physically and emotionally β€” and it makes complete sense that you're feeling worn down. Five months in, daily hospital visits, chemo, and repeated needle sticks? That's an enormous amount to carry. You are allowed to feel exactly how you feel right now.

You're absolutely right that talking to someone who truly *gets it* can make a difference that regular therapy sometimes can't. Here are some ways to connect with people in the same situation:

- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offers support groups specifically for people with leukemia β€” in person and online
- The American Cancer Society also has leukemia support group resources
- MyLeukemiaTeam has thousands of members who share their daily experiences, including the hard ones like yours As one MyLeukemiaTeam member shared, staying connected to others who understand brought real comfort: *"I'm grateful for the support system I'm finding here."*

For tomorrow's appointment specifically, it's okay to tell your care team how scared and exhausted you are. They may be able to call in extra support sooner, use warming techniques to help veins, or explore other options. You don't have to just endure it silently. πŸ’™
