For those of us who do or have done chemotherapy how did you or do you cope? The hair loss, the sickness, the fatigue, etc. When I did chemotherapy I slept a lot and concentrated on things spiritual. Share your thoughts here. You might just give someone else an example and some hope.

Several members offered practical tips such as taking Zofran before treatment, eating a small meal beforehand, using cannabis for relief, and accepting hair loss with fun wigs or head coverings. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, leaning on faith, and finding gratitude even in the hardest moments, with many members offering encouragement and celebrating each other's milestones.

My story is a sad story , it was in the middle of Covid and family couldn’t be there to support patients. My wife came in for five minutes then was asked to leave.
They started Chemo and I was instantly sick after 20 mils administered. I notified the nurse that I was going to pass out , the chemo was halted immediately and blood pressure was taken , my blood pressure was rock bottom. The cardiac team was called and was monitored until vitals returned to normal. Chemo was recommenced only to have the same issue happen again. I was transferred to the cancer ward and monitored there, again my blood pressure had dropped and I felt terrible. The cardiac team called again and was monitored until vitals returned. Can’t really explain how bad I felt.
The next morning the consultant said that the chemo had dropped my white blood count and lymphocytes to low, so the lymphocytes had gone from a hundred to below the normal levels. I now had to drink litres of water to flush the kidneys to remove the cancer.
I was told I had tumour lysis syndrome and the small amount of chemo had flushed the cancer from my lymph nodes. The consultant informed me that the next lot of chemo wouldn’t be as bad from here on, they were right.
I had more chemo a couple of days later and I handled it a lot better. As I worked in the hospital where I was treated I was told by the pharmacist that leukemia has advanced so much in treatment and I would have good results.
Four years later I have been cancer free and only require monthly IvG treatment.
Would do it all again now if cancer came back

For me the chemo was a cake walk. never got sick once. I did lose my hair but that is one less thing you have to do in the morning. now the fatigue factor which everyone goes through is a different story. I did my chemo from late Oct/2020 and finished in April of 2021. The chemo and God healed me, but to date [oct. 2026] the fatigue remains. It's tough for me to do simple chores. I still feel blessed b/c this is what God's plan is for me. The alternative is a dirt nap. I think this is what God's plan is for me..help with the ppl. on this site and spread his word. If I can help just a few ppl. it's worth being a little tired.
