I have only had CLL a few years? When I was 71 I was very active and going to the gym 3 times a week and jogging. Then I was told of I had CLL? I continued my routine including cutting and splitting oak for firewood making 2 cords of wood each summer. My wife limited me to 2 hours outside doing my tasks. I requested medication for CLL and my blood tests were 100% normal. It took me a year to realize I was normal. I also learned my medication is good for 10 to 20 years then time for a different medication. I hope you can see the good results I had missed because I was focusing on having CLL and that there was no “cure” but there is “control” when the illness is not doing ill effects to your body. This is normal if we realize this point. My blood tests indicate 100% normal. I hope your day comes when you realize you are either normal or close to normal and then you can focus on improving your mental and physical health? Before CLL I was Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) and I got control by eating healthy and exercising. My T2D is normal but I focus and think about my blood sugar more than I think about my CLL even thought I had control of both illnesses? I hope you are prepared for helping to improve your health when your blood test is close to “normal?” Celebrating Long Life (CLL”

It sounds like things feel really overwhelming right now, and that exhaustion is so real — low red blood cells (anemia) is a very common part of CML and it can make fatigue feel absolutely crushing. You're not imagining it. 💙

When red blood cell levels are low, the body simply isn't getting enough oxygen to function well. This can cause:

- Deep, persistent tiredness
- Weakness
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness The good news is that your other blood work improving is a positive sign. The red blood cell situation is something your care team can specifically address — it's worth telling them just how exhausted you are, because there are ways they can help manage anemia alongside your CML treatment.

Please don't sit with this alone. Mention the level of fatigue and how you're feeling emotionally to your doctor too — they need the full picture to support you properly. You deserve to feel better. 🙏
