Hi Debbie. I would definitely start with getting an appointment with a dermatologist. They are the ones that will truly determine what the cause of it is. It could be a plethora of things (allergic reaction, side effect from meds, change in soap, bug bites, etc). Be mindful too of the robot response when asking a question on here as it is not always true nor correct ok. Only your medical team, after seeing you in person, can determine what is causing the rash, etc. As Donna mentioned above, avoid itching as a infection can happen easily.
Debbie, I would be careful about scratching your legs. Even a tiny break in the skin could lead to an infection when your immune system is weakened by leukemia.
I’m taking antibiotics for an area of infection on my leg right now.
My first summer my legs were a problem. I used a fan to cool my legs and body and no problem. Those over active cells seem to like the skin and those cells can attack the nervous system. When it get hot I cool myself. My summers are hot and dry like a desert. In the spring I cut my grass until it dies to prevent a fire hazard. I live in an oak and pine tree forest with 5 acres and the fire department does check everyone’s property for compliance with fire control. Try staying cool 😎 to see if your nerves will relax?
Yes, CLL can definitely affect the skin, and what's being experienced sounds like it could be related. CLL weakens the immune system, which can make the skin more reactive and sensitive in several ways.
Here are some possible explanations for the itching, redness, and irritation:
