I was just diagnosed with CLL in May. I still don’t understand what caused a DNA change. I have read and read but how does this just happen. Why can’t they just replace my chromosome 13 with one of my normal
Cells before they all turn to this defective cells
I have been told that a familial disease like leukemia of any kind is just very rare. I was my sisters donor 3 yrs ago and again a year ago. She passed in 2018. I have been diagnosed with MDS a month ago. Go figure, who would have thunk huh. Yup! Did some family research and found 5 family members died of forms of leukemia. It's that one particular chromosome in our line. It can happen!
Unfortunately, there is no answer to the question. It is frustrating and I share that frustration with you.
My bro died of Aml 2001 I also when. To see if it was hereditary. Said no. Really?
De Nile is not just a river in Egypt! Reality is that cancer is not an equal opportunity provider! We have been given this pothole in the road as we progress on our journey! God is still in control! He will give us what we need to sweeten the lemonade we make out of this sour fruit! Love and Best Wishes!
I was just told I have CLL in May also, and no one seems to have any answers!
