I discovered epidemiology studies from the late 1990s indicated that the median life expectancy of patients with CLL with 11q deletion was between five and six years, with the luckiest patients getting around 10 years post-diagnosis.

It went like this in 2015. Sleep study showed sleep apnea. Also indicated heart issues. Numerous heart tests indicated heart disease and failure. Had a pacemaker implanted. Lymph nodes were enlarged. Had a lymph node biopsy and bone marrow test, then was diagnosed with C)L. Watch and wait for two years, then got hammered and went on Imbruvica. I think the Imbruvica caused my heart to deteriorate. I think Aleve and Advil (nsaids) caused my CLL to flair up. So now I'm pretty pleased to be where I am.

I visit my cardiologist once a year for an echo, and every six months for a consult. I see my oncologist every three months for a blood test and consult. Cardiologist gets a copy of the blood test every three months.

I'm a busy guy. I try to stay upbeat. It must working because I get no support from family and friends. It all comes from my fellow survivors at my exercise class at the Y. And from friends like you on this site.

There's a French and Indian War re-enactment at Heritage Hill today. I might go check it out if it's not too hot.
