Be vigilant about "bug bites." It seems as if CLL can manifest itself in any number of ways, including skin irritation. One particular condition known as pyoderma gangrenosum can look and feel like a bug bite for an extended time, only it never heals. It can appear anywhere on the body but occurs on the lower limbs most frequently. It can be disfigured if not treated promptly.
I asked my oncologist to check a bite on my leg that hadnt healed and she said it was just a bug bite. Eight months later after many difficult skin grafts the bite was healed and only left a hole in my thigh that is 2x3" and 3/8" deep. Six years later pyoderma gangrenosum appeared on my face. I was blessed to have a dermatologist familiar with PG and she injected the location the very day I discovered it.
So be aware that CLL can frequently appear as a rash or bite. Monitor skin irritations and work closely with your oncologist. You may need to educate them about potential connections between CLL and skin irritation. A lot of these connections are just being explored so be your own best advocate,

Leslie, so sorry about your chronic hives. Never really knew the cause of my rash/hives as hadn't started meds yet but Clobetasol cream helped a lot. Recently on Zpac for sinus infection and got puffy and red under eye. Switched to Augmentin. Google designates Brukinsa and Zpac a no no. What was your original antibiotic for pneumonia?
