I just got my team from the VA not sure what to expect. The team is like on zoom and you do labs and they meet with you from ever so often.

Don't get me stawted with the VA! Seriously I don't know what the treatment is like because I never tried them (not even on treatment currently anyway). It was they who found something was wrong, and came back with an initial dx of CLL, but since the right hand didn't seem to know what the left was doing, I was able to get into Comunity Care and the dx was confirmed by The James at OSU Wexner. I was there for about a year and a half? Now, they want to pull us out of CC back into the VA. When VA Oncology called to establish an appointment, I informed them that I would be staying with Wexner. To be honest, I don't know if there would be any difference in the end, but, not to completely deride the VA, if you have any experience with them, you may have concluded that they (like other places, admittedly) have some slackards and gobshites working there. I found the James to be more professional and I wanted what I thought would be better continuity of care. I guess their missteps really did not set well with me, with them throwing words like CLL and Hematology/Oncology around WITHOUT cluing me in. I found out that they were looking at CLL (whatever that was) incidentally at a Urology appointment. The PA clued me in then, setting some quite alarming bells in me. So, with all the legitimate things the VA does do well, it's probably a good choice, but at the time the reputation of the James drew me in and I think I'll stay.

I like you position of realizing which medical care is better for you at this time? I totally Agee with you the we are totally in charge with our health care choices. If we discover a concern about our care we can decided what to do for our health care. I think there are both good and bad medical people. I think the more we learn about our medical condition the better choices we made for our health care. I am a veteran and so far my medical insurance covers more than I could get at the VA. I am glad my medical care has had very few issues regarding my care. I hope you health improves and you have less medical care issues?
