Hi Soultime,
I did have an MRI with and without contrast.
I did not have edema but did have lots of issues along my spine because of osteoarthritis. I also have the stenosis and so many other problems. My oncologist said it is not from the CLL, however I believe since CLL weakends our immune system, the osteoarthritis is intensified and causes us more damage, faster than if we didn't have CLL. They did find a pocket of fluid in my neck and are not sure what caused it. I am supposed to follow up with my PC.
I am not sure if that helps or not. I will be sending healing prayers π π . I hope they can figure out what is causing your edema.
Hi Soultime12
The only bone test I ever had was for bone density and that was fine when I had it 6 years ago.
When your doctor explains that to you Iβd love to hear what it actually means and if there are any symptoms related to that statement.
Hope you are doing ok. Sending you positive energy to fight anything going on. ππ
Soultime,
I read your question but have no definite answer. I will be glad to see what the doctor says and if CLL is to blame. I hope you're not having too much pain. Probably would be best to just rest until you get more answers. You know my dear friend that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Sending a big hug to you too! π
I read that your spinal health concern is that the center of you spinal bone is becoming more fluid and less tissue for producing cells? In many cases, bone marrow edema will go away with rest, therapy, and pain meds like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). You may have to rest for several months to feel better. In more serious cases, your doctor may suggest other medicines and surgery. I think with care and time you may go back to normal? I hope my answer and you questioning your medical people that you will find an answer to your health issue? I am glad so many team member responded to your posting so quick? Try to have a good weekend and take care of your self and maybe think of being happy and healthy.
Hey Soultime! I didn't have an MRI...I had a couple cat scans to check for bone cancer. They found numerous vertebrae with 'foraminal stenosis'...the pain got so bad I had to give up walking as a daily activity. I didn't see any diagnosis referring to edema. Now I'm not sure what is causing all my pain...CLL or the stenosis. Hopefully you'll find an answer soon!
