I try to eat healthy which means I think about what the meal is versus the crowd in the restaurant. I also visit during times when there are fewer people? Many places do offer take out which means you get the meal but you do not have to sit around a crowd of people.

I too avoid indoor dining..get it to go and eat outside. I do most of my own cooking and for family gatherings we try to stay out side…something wonderful about sitting on the patio or around the fire pit with the grandkids ❤️

When eating in restaurants while taking Brukinsa for CLL, consider the following precautions to minimize risks:

1. Food Safety: Ensure the restaurant follows strict food safety practices. Avoid raw or undercooked foods like sushi, runny eggs, and rare meats.
2. Hygiene: Choose restaurants known for cleanliness. Avoid salad bars and buffets where food may sit out for long periods.
3. Dairy Products: Avoid unpasteurized dairy and certain soft cheeses like brie and blue cheese.
4. Water Safety: Drink bottled or filtered water, especially if you're unsure about the local water quality.
5. Consult Your Doctor: Always discuss your dining habits with your healthcare team to get personalized advice based on your treatment and condition.

These steps can help reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses, which is crucial for individuals with compromised immune systems due to CLL and its treatments.

I avoid sitting in indoor restaurants altogether. Can't wear an N95 and just too much infection risk. Luckily I have a lovely open air porch and nearby take out!
