Members discussed the possible links between CLL and exposure to toxic chemicals like Agent Orange and Dieldrin, with several sharing personal stories of chemical exposure through military service, farming, or workplace environments, and many noting no prior family history of cancer. A recurring theme was the frustration of having fatigue dismissed by doctors, with many members strongly affirming that extreme tiredness is a very real and life-altering symptom of CLL that significantly limits daily activity. Members also found comfort in the community's shared understanding, encouraging each other to listen to their own bodies, walk gently in nature, and lean on one another when doctors fall short.

Hey Patty👒. Please let your friend know if you’re not up to going on Wednesday. If you go tho & get tired or just have had enough for the day, let her know ok. True friends will understand. We all have to put ourselves first. Not easy at all as we remember how much we used to be able to do & want to be that person again. Hugs & smiles

Rob, I agree with Deb. They really don’t have a clue as to how we feel. If I exercise, I pretty much have less energy that day. Maybe overall it gives a boost, but generally that’s all I plan for that day. For example, I walked the dog for 30 mins this morning, came home and washed 4 windows, and now am sitting in my recliner with a heating pad. Maybe I’ll get the oomph to wash the powder room later (which I wanted to do yesterday but pooped out after making soup). Everyday my energy level changes. I’m heading to lunch with a friend Weds. She chose a place connected to a huge knick-knack shop. Wants to go shopping afterwards. I’m dreading it! No one understands the exhaustion we deal with everyday.

Hi Deb,
Your right the haematologist doesn’t listen , told to get more exercise. It annoys me that I have a consultation and get brushed off by him, it’s annoying to know that so many people suffer from fatigue, even an acknowledgment that yes you suffer but there isn’t a remedy to fix it would make me feel better. I feel like I’m a hypochondriac, not being believed.
Told him I walk three times a week and ride bike twice, he said do more . Very hard to do when your fatigued before you start.
