I'm used to being a little emotional over certain things, but it seems like I can get tears welling up for what seems like no logical reason (emotions and logic, Mr. Spock?). Is this nostalgia? Is it a part of my mind and body processing everything? Am I just getting old and sappy? ha.

First off — definitely not just getting old and sappy! What you're experiencing is completely normal and very common after a leukemia diagnosis. I have found the word “chronic” is a challenge in and of itself. I’m use to being the fixer. The focused time intervals works best. I use 15 minutes focusing on a chore, a social media break, a phone call or anything else. No worry time on “what if?”.
Yes Cathy I think we feel more for people who are sick now because we are sick also we understand it More.. because we are on this journey and we go through so many changes with leukemia..I wouldn't be able to watch someone on Hospice..I would break down..so you are not alone.. Have a Blessed day.. PS. sending a card is a wonderful thing to do the person will appreciate it
Yes I feel I am More sensitive to lots of things now.if I am watching or reading something sad sometimes I even cry sometimes I tear up ..I think I respond to things Differently now because I can feel the sadness in people now .More now because I know I have Blood cancer..
Patrick and Deb, I was just telling my sister the other day that I am more emotional these days. My cousin was in hospice and she asked me if I had talked to him lately. I told her I did not trust myself to do that for fear I would break down. I tried to explain that but I am not sure if she really understood. I could never do that because it would make the moment even harder for the poor person who is in bad health. I would never want that done to me, so I am very sensitive about that. However, I did feel that I could send a card. Yes, I have noticed I am more emotional than ever. So my fellow Leukemians, you are not alone. Take good care and enjoy your day.
