During my last visit my oncologist told me that I have "frog-throat". When I got home and looked in the mirror while swallowing, the lymph nodes on both sides of my throat pop out like a frog that is about to croak. LOL...

I am curious though, when the time comes that I have to start treatment, will my lymph nodes go back to normal size?
Has anyone tried lymphatic massage? Does it work?

Hi Jeff, I also have CLL/SLL with nodes on my thyroid glands and never heard the term "frog throat" my problem in this area is that I am being told that I must drink a lot of water but cannot swollow most of the time and sometimes the water comes back up with no bad taste? On the odd occasion the water comes back up and then start reaching which brings up a fairly hard lump that looks like a slug!!!!! the water then goes down no problem for over a week as the blockage has been cleared? This has been going on for a couple of years now and apparently just another thing we have to put up with, but jokingly as I am a bit laid back and now take things as they happen " do frogs eat slugs" Only joking and good luck with your frogs!

My enlarged lymph nodes were in my arm pit and just below it as well as in my abdomen. Six months after starting treatment with a targeted therapy for my CLL my lymph nodes were all normal sized.

Yes, I’ve had lymphatic massage & recommend it. The preferred method is not the manual lymphatic massage tho. Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) is the kind that you want. Not easy to find one but do a search for your area. Holistic practitioners are the primary ones that offer it. Most insurance companies of course won’t cover it, but it is well worth it to have it done.
