- Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) — CLL can reduce platelet production, making it harder for blood to clot. Calquence can also lower platelet counts as a side effect, which may trigger petechiae.
- Bleeding under the skin — When platelets are low, tiny capillaries can leak small amounts of blood under the skin, creating those spots.
