I’m halfway through treatment with calquence and veneteclax. I was nervous to start both but the side effects have been minimal. The ramp up for veneteclax was pretty intense, lots of visits and blood tests but worth it to make sure everything was ok. Be sure to drink plenty of water and when they say take veneteclax with food they’re not kidding. I learned the hard way, nausea and stomach cramping. I never did that again! On my last 2 monthly visits my dr said my blood work looks great and I feel much better than I did before starting treatment. Good luck

Ill affects are possible during our experiment with drugs? I developed a strange cough which my doctors cough not help solve. Pharmacist told me it was an ill affect from Brukinsa. I take my Brukinsa 50% dose no ill affects. We should aways monitor our help and get help with ill affects.

So after stopping drugs for a week my wbc only came up to 2.41 and neutrophil absolute count was only 1.17. Dr said to hold another week. Today, after 2 weeks, all blood counts are in range. WBC is 4.46 and nac is 3.09. Am going back on full dose medicine. The only thing that felt any different being off the drugs was night sweats for the last few nights. Hope the next 7 months go as well as the first 7.

Looks like I might have praised this treatment a little too soon, just had my monthly dr visit and although I’m feeling really good, my wbc dropped from 4.9 to 2.3 and my neutrophils are 900, she said they should be at least 1500. She stopped both drugs for one week and then see if numbers go up. If not, probably reduce dosage. She said not to be too alarmed, this is common. I will be eating extremely healthy this week, hoping they go back up without making any changes.
