I found out later he had used that time to go and be intimate with someone else. My heart is crushed. I never thought i would have to deal with something like this while dealing with cancer etc at the same time. I now have to face the reality of being alone and dealing with everything by myself. Members rallied around someone facing the heartbreak of being cheated on and abandoned at the hospital while battling CLL, offering an outpouring of empathy and solidarity. Several members shared strikingly similar experiences of partners leaving during serious illness, with many saying that, while devastating, the separation ultimately revealed their own strength and led to healing over time. A recurring theme was leaning on faith, prayer, and community support to carry the emotional weight, along with practical encouragement to prioritize personal health and seek support groups for those dealing with betrayal and loss.

Ugh…I sooooo can relate to what you are feeling TSully. My story is a tad different but not by much. When I was diagnosed 11yrs ago, my husband & I had been married for 20 yrs. I thought we were soulmates…well..within a year I was seeing a lawyer for a divorce. My ex became a totally different person, said I was diseased, got angry with me because I couldn’t do things like I used…angry that I was fatigued all the time..never went to one appointment with me, & yes ended up with another woman. But yanno what? It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Seriously. Yes, it’s heartbreaking & you feel lost & lonely, but in time you will gain your own sense of self again. It is his loss & your gain…why would you want someone like that who is incapable of loving you & didn’t give you a second thought to be with someone else? He is pure trash & is not deserving of you. Block him from your phone & never speak to him again. If you are married, find a lawyer..he has committed adultery, etc. Big hugs to you. Lean on your friends & family members until you get back on your feet ok..

My wife who I have known for 50 years is a very caring person. My illness only awakened her caring mood which is very protective and caring. I think if there is a relationship this personal care mood is natural. I am have CLL but I do take medication and I think my WBC count is 100% normal and so is my mental and physical health. I am glad I had maintained my health before and after CLL. I do understand if a person wants to exit a relationship because of an illness there was a problem before the illness occurred to make the problem worst? I hope you can discuss this issue to find the reason for this concern happening and a possible solution to fix your relationship. I think an understanding that CLL can be a long term illness that can be maintained with medication, healthy eating, and exercise has been my solution to a more than normal life. Each morning I tell my wife I am going outside at 6:30 to do my property work. this summer I have cut and split 1.4 cords of wood and I plan to do 2 cords of wood. I live in a very hot and dry area where I have to be inside between 8 - 9 AM to avoid exposure to the sun which is bad for a person with CLL. My wife does warn me to come inside after I have been outside for 90 to 120 minutes. When I do come inside I am covered in sweat and sawdust. I am 74 but I do not act my age or seem to have CLL. I do miss going to the gym 3 times a week and just moving the weights and jogging but property maintenance on 5 acres in an oak tree forest is important.

Try to take one step & one day at a time. It’s not easy & yes, easier said than done. Keep things in perspective & put your health first each day. Nurture yourself as well ok
