I think the treatment drug can also affect other parts of a person’s body so being tired may be the person recovering from the exposure to the chemicals. As time passes and your body recovers you may notice the recovery. I am not sure why medical professionals do not tell people what to expect from the chemical exposure?

From what I’ve seen from others on this forum, yes, the medication you are taking can add to ones fatigue. Won’t hurt to mention it to your doctor as well.

Congratulations on being in remission — that's a big deal! And yes, fatigue during treatment is very common, even when things are going well. Many people with CLL report feeling tired at every stage, including remission.

Congratulations on being in remission — that's a big deal! And yes, fatigue during treatment is very common, even when things are going well. Many people with CLL report feeling tired at every stage, including remission.
A MyLeukemiaTeam member shared: "I'm in remission with CLL, but fatigue is a daily part of my life. There are days I wake up tired." Fatigue during treatment can come from several sources, including:
- The medication itself — some leukemia treatments directly contribute to tiredness
- Anemia — low red blood cell counts are common and can drain your energy
- Inflammation — CLL can cause the body to produce chemicals that trigger fatigue
- Sleep disruption — night sweats or anxiety can affect rest quality
After treatment finishes, fatigue can sometimes linger for several more months, so it's worth having an open conversation with your oncologist about what you're experiencing. Some things that may help in the meantime:
- Light exercise like walking or swimming — even short walks can make a difference
- Eating small, nutritious meals throughout the day
- Rest when needed — short naps can genuinely help
- Ask your doctor to check for anemia — treating it can significantly boost energy levels
