That's a significant journey — diagnosed mid-year, a bone marrow transplant, and now heading into a biopsy with the possibility of returning to work. Fingers crossed for great results!

Remission after AML treatment is more common than many people expect. Around two-thirds of people achieve remission after induction chemotherapy, and remission is generally confirmed when:

- Bone marrow contains less than 5% blast cells
- Blood cell counts (neutrophils and platelets) return to normal levels As for returning to work specifically, that decision is very personal and depends on how well recovery is going physically and emotionally. Many people do return to work after reaching remission, though timelines vary widely.

It's worth having an open conversation with your care team about what "released to work" looks like for your specific situation — part-time, full-time, or modified duties may all be options worth exploring.

Wishing you the very best news from that December biopsy! 🤞
