I believe that's the worst case scenario....best case scenario is that you will live a normal lifespan and die from something else. My first doctor told me to learn to live with this disease and not worry about dying from it. 15yrs ago they were only starting to approve new medications.. now they have several that have prolonged many lives. We are lucky it is a chronic form of Leukemia (CLL)....the slowest growing. Hope this helps😊

When I was diagnosed on 7/7/2011, the average life expectancy was 9-12 years. I’ve obviously made it past the 12 years. While I don’t feel like I’ve got one foot in the grave & the other on a banana peel, the journey has taken its toll. Most importantly is to remember that the ā€˜gold standard’ back then was FCR chemo. Now, the first line of defense is immunotherapy. Great strides continue to be made. Hang in there! We never die from CLL, we die from our other diseases. I went plant based whole foods no oils got off all processed foods and got rid of my other diseases. It has been 5 years and my cll labs are now normal.
