I did with the induction and consolidation, and again when I had chemo prior to my transplant. When it started coming out, it looked really bad so my husband brought his beard trimmer to the hospital and gave me a close cut. Make sure you wear some kind of soft cap to bed. I learned if you don't your pillow looks like Big Foot slept on it.

Very similar to Elaine's treatment. Lost my hair but grew all back right before pre-transplant chemo, then lost it again. It came back after 3-4 months but is a little thinner than my very thick hair I had my whole life. As someone else said it well -- small price to pay if the treatments keep you motoring along in life. I think it is not nearly as dramatic mentally as for women who go through the same hair loss, but it is still an adjustment for a man. Hang in there --- it will grow back. I remember reading about someone who came back with different color hair -- that would be wild :)

I did after the intense chemo before my bone marrow transplant. My hair came out in clumps about 10 days after the transplant. It had been thick. long, and brown. It took about a month before I started to see little sprouts coming back and about 2 years to grow back to its original length, but it is now thinner and white, a small price to pay for survival.
