I'm on watch and wait also. My current WBC is 40. My doctor had told me it wouldn't necessarily be how high the number was in regard to starting treatment...but, how quickly it went up (doubling-time) plus severity of any symptoms. If I remember correctly, I think he told me if it doubles in a year or less then he'd be concerned.

My husband was treated promptly because his lymph nodes were very enlarged. His WBC varied between 12 and 16 during the month that he was diagnosed, which doctors said was abnormal, but still not near as high as most folks at diagnosis. He was also experiencing a lot of fatigue and dizziness on many days prior to his diagnosis.

The more important result is your absolute lymphocyte count (alc). Both the wbc and the alc can fluctuate from one test result to another. 2 months ago my alc was 16.3 and 2weeks ago it was 11.2. Same with the wbc but even more so because the wbc includes all of the different types of white blood cells. If your asymptomatic I really wouldn't worry about the counts unless they jump up an extreme amount.
